About the Scholarships
The Library adminsiters four privately endowed scholarships. Students apply through the Guidance Counselor at their individual high schools in May each year. Scholarships are awarded at Graduation. Scholarships are awarded based on criteria established by the endowing party. The amount awarded may vary anually. All awards consider academic marks as well as involvement in extracurricular high school activities and volunteerism in their communities.
The Dr. Frederick Garland and Clara Blanche Morehouse Memorial Scholarship
This Scholarship is awarded to a student who plans to persue their post secondary education at a University, College, Community college, or other educational insititution. Preference is given to students who resides on Digby Neck and has attended Digby Neck Consolidated School.
The Dr. F. Ronald and Naomi Morehouse Science Prize
This Scholarship is awarded to a student persuing a Bachelor of Science at a University.
The Dr. Anthony and Carol Measham Health Sciences Scholarship
This Scholarhip is awarded to a student who intends to pursue a post secondary education in one of the Health Sciences at a University.
The Chad Tidd Memorial Scholarship
This Scholarship is awarded to a student who intends to pursue a post secondary education at a university, community college, or college. This award is directed towards a student who may have experienced challenges, or who has an interest in writing.
